    Breakfast is your first meal of the day and normally the last meal you will have at Hatton Court. Therefore we pride ourselves on delivering a locally sourced, quality cooked breakfast with an expansive Continental buffet. 

    Served from 7am to 9:30am Monday to Friday and from 8am to 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday.

    Our lunch offer is a set 2 course menu for £15.95 with a choice of options for an extra course if required. The menu is designed daily by our Head Chef and served in the exclusive Tara Restaurant.

    We are the only hotel locally to offer a traditional fine dining Sunday lunch for all the family. A fine dining service and the best of roasted joints, twice turned roast potatoes and a fine jus, fresh market fish and vegetarian options are also on the menu. Our desserts are home-made and very morish!

    We have a set menu of the day that is changed daily and a set priced A' La Carte. Our menus are designed using fresh produce & great flair resulting in fabulous flavours and textures. We offer a fine dining experience from start to finish. On arrival we will greet you in our lounge with menus for you to peruse and enjoy a pre dinner drink. Once in the restaurant we will serve fresh bread from our bread trolley and the experience of fine food, great wines and attentive service will leave you thoroughly satisfied.

  • What is Afternoon Tea?

    Afternoon Tea is a tea-related ritual, introduced in Britain in the early 1840s. It evolved as a mini meal to stem the hunger and anticipation of an evening meal at 8pm.

    Afternoon Tea is a meal composed of sandwiches (usually cut delicately into 'fingers'), scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes. Interestingly, scones were not a common feature of early Afternoon Tea and were only introduced in the twentieth century.

    Afternoon Tea was initially developed as a private social event for ladies who climbed the echelons of society. It was only when Queen Victoria engaged in the Afternoon Tea ritual that it became a formal occasion on a larger scale, known as 'tea receptions'.

    These receptions could have as many as two hundred guests with an open 'at home' invitation to visit between 4pm and 7pm, during which they could come and go as they pleased; this was the genesis of the Afternoon Tea as we know it.

    In Britain today Afternoon Tea is usually enjoyed as an occasional indulgence or to celebrate a special event such as a birthday, or a pre-wedding or baby shower party with a group of friends.

Our 30 year history at Hatton Hotels has enabled us to work exclusively with the best in business. Joseph Perrier is one of those chosen suppliers here at The Hatton Collection and we are proud to bring you a combination of history and future.

Joseph Perrier has been making fine champagne for nearly 200 years, gracing celebrations both high profile and private. Joseph Perrier was poured on the first Air France Concorde flight in 1976 and more recently celebrated the Nobel Prize for medicine. The name Cuvée Royale featured on the label celebrates the relationship with Queen Victoria and King Edward VII in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Today Joseph Perrier has a simple philosophy - concentrate on making the best champagne for the enjoyment of all. The House remains family owned to this day. The 21 hectares of vineyards are all planted on beautifully situated south facing slopes overlooking the River Marne, mainly Pinot Noir with some Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The vineyards are treated with the utmost respect; Joseph Perrier were enthusiastic early adopters of a culture of minimum inputs in the search for equilibrium and balance in the soil. Wildflowers can be found alongside the vines and natural mulch in between the rows. All the grapes are hand picked into small baskets to make sure they reach the press in perfect condition.

We have 4 rooms which offer private dining capacities from 10 persons and up to 300 people in our permanent Marquee, providing an ideal venue in Gloucester for an exceptional dining experience with a group of friends, relatives or business colleagues. Our Head Chef would also be delighted to develop speciality menus to meet individual requirements for private dining whatever the occasion.
